The top five reasons for treatment abroad last year were trauma resulting from an accident or fall, heart attacks, infectious diseases, diseases of the digestive system and respiratory diseases. Outpatient medical expenses made up 32 percent of all travel insurance claims and loss or theft of baggage made up 13% of all claims on annual Travel Insurance Polcies.
